Rosefest 2025 marks the return of Shekhinah’s visionary festival, celebrating the empowerment and artistry of women in the South African music industry. Building upon the success of its previous editions, this year’s festival promises an unforgettable experience, blending live performances, and a vibrant atmosphere that honors the spirit of womanhood.

We are excited to announce that Rosefest, Shekhinah’s all female music festival, is back for it’s 4th iteration this Women’s month. The event will take place on the 9th of August at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Johannesburg from 12:00 until 20:00 featuring a curated line up of the best female artists in South Africa.

Rosefest 2025 Launch Event

On the 19th June we invited friends and fans of Rosefest to an intimate evening hosted at Figure of 8 Productions, Shekhinah’s recording studio in Randburg. With the return of Rosefest, fans were invited to enter a draw and win tickets to attend the intimate event to honour the fans who have waited since 2020 since the last iteration. Fans were greeted with strawberry and litchi brutal fruit cocktails, followed by 4 performances from women who will be gracing the stage at the festival, and partied the night away, musicians and fans.

Our Bright Future

If you attended Rosefest in Johannesburg or Durban last year, thank you so much for being apart of the very first of many to come! We have put together a movie as a thank you to all the supporters who attended, let us know if you see yourself or your friends! Rosefest is not staying in 2019, even though we may not be able to relax on the grass at a festival we have still be working hard this year to continue in 2020 and beyond..

With the phenomenal support received in 2019 at the launch of Rosefest, we are excited to announce the next installment with our Rosefest 2020 campaign – Our Bright Future. Rosefest was started to address the inequalities in the music industry that women face consistently, this year we are broadening the conversation to address Mental Health and Gender Based Violence. Rosefest has partnered with Lifeline SA to host change – focused discussions and community centered deep dives into the issues women and society are facing. We aim to bridge the gap between those affected and the organisations set up to assist. These conversations will be moderated by the phenomenal Ashanti Kunene, a social justice activist passionate about open, honest conversations that encourage people to learn how to unlearn toxic beliefs and behaviors. We will involve carefully curated panels of speakers we hope will open the conversation in an informative and progressive light.
